Risk of Loss
Unless otherwise agreed to in writing, all shipments are made FOB Origin (Shipping Point).
Ownership and risk of loss transfer to the purchaser immediately upon delivery of the shipment to the freight carrier.
Once a shipment has been accepted by the carrier, Sinai Marble & Stone is not responsible for damage, shortages, delays, or loss occurring during transit.
Receiving Your Shipment
Because natural stone is heavy and shipped by freight carriers, customers are responsible for carefully inspecting all deliveries before signing the delivery receipt.
If damage is visible:
-
Note all damage and shortages on the carrier's delivery receipt before signing.
-
Photograph the shipment, packaging, pallets, and damaged material whenever possible.
-
Retain all packaging until instructed otherwise by the carrier.
-
Notify Sinai Marble & Stone on the same day delivery is completed.
Failure to properly document visible freight damage with the carrier may affect the ability to process a freight claim.
Freight Damage & Claims
Although Sinai Marble & Stone carefully inspects and packages every shipment before it leaves our facility, damage may occasionally occur while the shipment is in transit.
Freight damage occurring after the shipment leaves our warehouse is the responsibility of the freight carrier.
Sinai Marble & Stone will gladly assist customers by providing invoices, photographs, proof of shipment, and any reasonable documentation necessary to support a freight claim.
Providing assistance with a freight claim does not constitute an acceptance of liability for freight damage.
Natural Stone Breakage
Natural stone products are transported on pallets and handled multiple times throughout the shipping process.
For this reason, up to 10% breakage per pallet is considered an acceptable industry tolerance and should be factored into project planning and ordering quantities.
Claims for replacement, refund, or credit within this tolerance will not be accepted.
Delivery Issues
Incorrect Shipping Address
Customers are responsible for providing accurate shipping information.
Sinai Marble & Stone is not responsible for shipments delayed, misdelivered, or returned due to incorrect or incomplete shipping information.
Additional freight charges resulting from address corrections or reshipments are the responsibility of the customer.
Lost or Stolen Shipments
If you believe your shipment has been lost during transit, please contact us immediately.
We will assist you in communicating with the freight carrier and, when appropriate, filing a freight claim.
